Ms. Sengupta-Murray is an associate lawyer at Weisberg Law Criminal Lawyers.
Ms. Sengupta-Murray graduated from McMaster University with an honours degree in Arts and Science. She completed her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, she gained valuable experience in client advocacy as a caseworker with the Parkdale Community Legal Aid Clinic, representing low-income tenants facing eviction in hearings and mediations before the Landlord and Tenant Board of Ontario. While in law school Ms. Sengupta-Murray worked as a summer student for a criminal defence firm, where she assisted in the preparation of an intervention before the Supreme Court of Canada. She graduated Osgoode in the top of her class and received the Charles Woodrow Memorial Award for academic achievement.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sengupta-Murray completed her articles and worked as an associate at another well-respected criminal law firm in downtown Toronto. She worked on a variety of matters ranging from regulatory charges and professional disciplinary matters, to serious criminal offences. Ms. Sengupta-Murray has experience working on trials and appeals in cases involving impaired driving, sexual assault, firearms and drug trafficking offences.
