R. v. R.R.
Images of child pornography were uploaded to the Cloud. American authorities contacted the RCMP. A search warrant was eventually executed at R.R.’s house. The warrant was quashed as a result of Charter issues exposed by counsel. R.R. was found not guilty.
R. v. M.J
Police searched M.J.’s parent’s residence. In M.J.’s room several items containing child pornography were discovered. The prosecution was unable to prove that the connection between the seized evidence and the child pornography. The client was discharged of these offences at the preliminary hearing.
